laurent

Hello,

I was browsing Tom Muller4s portfolio when I fell on two beauties I cant identify.

the work is here

http://www.hellomuller.com/work/2007/worry-doll.html

Hope You’ll find out.

thanks.

’Matt Coyle’ looks like ITC Barcelona.

The main title could be a custom logo... And yet I have the feeling that I’ve seen these lettershapes before... (Some of these shapes are reminiscent of Josef Albers’ typeface work, but that’s not it, either.)Sorry, I know my comment isn’t very helpful. If I can remember where I’ve seen it before, I’ll post it.

I bet the main title has been custom drawn, as it is easy enough to do in Illustrator. I have done something similar constructed for a danish music company once.

I’ll bet it’s custom too.

I’ll bet it’s not.
Some other work of his uses the same face.
Uhm, maybe it’s his own style.

ITC Barcelona is a beauty, and it’s cheap !

Thanks for your help.

I’ve taken a look at all his work on his site & haven’t come across the same face anywhere. What I did come across were the logo’s for Event Horizon & Where To Start which are somewhat similar in style & -according to me- obviously custom. If anything, I’m even more convinced now that it’s custom, but you could always contact him to find out...

my mistake

I could’ve overlooked it though, but I just didn’t see it anywhere...
Anyway, I really have to thank you for the link, there’s some great stuff on Muller’s site!

This old FontBank font called ’Outland’ is similar. My notes say it’s ’real’ name is ’Disco’, but I suspect it was not digitized.

Hi everyone,

Some clarification: the “Worry Doll” type is indeed a custom design. “Matt Coyle” is indeed set in ITC Barcelona.

I’ve written a blog post about the design of the cover/book here:

the real Tom !?! wow !

love your work.
