(x) Fashion typography (similar to ITC Avant Garde Gothic) - ITC Avant Garde Gothic w/ Alt {Rainer}

Sandro Dujmenovic

it looks like avantgarde but it isn't

Have you tried the Alternate Figures?

It reminds me of a customized OLRound Gothic-Light, by Dennis Ortiz-Lopez. But, yeah, now that I look, I think Renko may be right!

i think it is too light for avantgarde extra light. hm...

maybe it is itc avantgarde extra light, with alternates and some custom glyphs?

or it is something custom completely?

p.s i haven't noticed elsner flake's extra light. i think it is pretty close, like itc's version.

It is Avant Garde Extra Light Alternate and then someone played with it - joining some figures in ways that are related to the joined ones in the font but new and fun. I checked my ITC Typeface Collection book from 1980 and none are shown in the phototype era either.

i tryed elsner's extra light. it' s not the same.

Given the basic shape and proportions seem to match, I'd wager it was modified by thinning it out a bit more and connecting the parts that were a bit more abnormal.

Have you tried outlining the text and then putting a stroke on it to shrink the line thickness?

jselig i tought of this also :) . just trying to find something that is ready to buy / download hehe :D

I measured EF Avant Garde and it appears to be just a tiny bit thicker than ITC version I have. Interesting...

i think that this weight was customly made :). hairline eh :D. btw it is easy to create this kind of weight in illustrator. i tryed :D
