Hello typophiles
Any ideas on a typeface that would be suitable for a fashion dictionary?
Ideally I need a family with small caps for cross references.
Thanks, Bosschan
For display, Fashion tends to love Didot and Avant Garde. Or consider a very thin sans.
House Industries Chalet family
Helvetica with extremely tight tracking also works well. For the first half of a title, use the Thin weight; for the last half, Heavy. Either go all upper or all lowercase, or a combination of both (thin and lower, heavy and upper, or vice versa).
This also works with Avant Garde as previously mentioned, or combining a heavy Didone with a thin grotesque, or vice versa.
- Lex
Use House Luxury while it's still new. It's certainly appropriate for fashion, not to mention being totally gorgeous.
Do not squoosh.
Your squooshing reminded me of something else. If you want to go sans, you might try Anisette (Thin) from Typofonderie.
