Checking Fontlab fonts that don't translate as expected to Mac Type 1

John Button

Are there any Fontlab experts out there that would have time/be generous enough to look at three Fontlab .vfb files and do what’s needed to make all 40 new generated characters work in Mac Type 1 — at present there are 5 that aren’t printing as they should.
We have done all the necessary design work in Fontlab 4.6 on the PC and everything works fine on the PC; then convert via TransType.
Very many TIA for any help.
Best wishes

I’m willing to take a look if you want. I’m not sure I can be of assistance, but the topic is interesting. Recently I came across a typeface that had really, really high ascenders; it wouldn’t work properly in Quark even though it might have technically been legal within the PostScript specification. Is there anything unusal about your glyphs that you can think of?

That would be great — can you let me have your email address and I’ll send them — mine’s john@bookcraft.co.uk
It’s only 6 out of 40 new glyphs that are causing a problem; I suspect it’s something to do with composite outlines
All best wishes
