Typophile

Congratulations are in order...

Congratulations to Miguel Sousa for the recent appointment to the font devewlopment position at Adobe. It couldn’t have happened to a better candidate, IMO. Miguel is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful contributers here at typophile, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who appreciates that. I figured since he’s now in San Jose, it’s safe to break the news. Let’s get a big round of applause, everyone!

Congratualtions indeed! To both Miguel and to Adobe!

Cheers, Si

Will be great to have another Adobe devewloper on Typophile. Best of luck, Miguel.

Congratulazioni !

BRAVO Miguel!!! The right man for the job!

Way to go Miguel, it sounds like a fascinating job.
Hopefully you will get to do some type design along with the font development :-)

Congratulations. :^)

:^) I didn’t know we could *finally* talk about this. ;^) Congratulations, querido.

Well, if we can’t then do you know someone who can make the thread ’disappear’. ;-)

Ehe. O:^)

Congratulations! Good luck with it all, cheers!

Wow, what a coup! Good for you, Miguel.

Congratulations Miguel! Os meus cumprimentos :)

Dino

You guys are a great gang :,^)
Thank you all for the posts and e-mails.

Which thread do you want me to make disappear, Si? :^P

Nah, just kiddin’. Congratulations, Miguel, best of luck!

Wow! Congratulations, Miguel! I look forward to getting to know your work.

Well, I didn’t want to let the cat out of the bag too early, but as Miguel started on Monday, I guess I was a little late. :/

We’re very happy to have Miguel on board. He brings a combination of strengths in both design skills (see the TDC award-winner Calouste) and technical skills (see the “AdhesionText” tool on his web site).

Cheers,

T

What? no plug?

Gerry,
Since you had not posted here in a long while, perhaps they thought this might prompt you to? :-)

ChrisL

Gerry knows I can be taken out of Reading, but Reading can’t be taken out of me. (Nonetheless I’ve edited the wiki)

The same is true for him and Greece ;^D

Well put.

I tried to put a post about this on my blog, but ran into technical problems (twice, even). Maybe tomorrow.

T

I knew Miguel would be a great contributor right from his first day at Adobe and Thomas has confirmed it—way to go Miguel! And, thank you Thomas for your well-written exposé on your long-distance colleague :-)
