Ehrhardt Volume Expert

olea

Hello all,

While reading a book I realised that the font is really nice. After investigating a little bit I found that the font is “Ehrhardt Volume Expert”. I went to several internet search machines but this typeset is commercial and, therefore, you have to pay for it.

Do you know any way to get this typeset for free?

By the way, I forgot to say that I would like to use this typset to write some university reports.
Any similar, but free, typeset would also be welcome.

Thanks
Olea

A big reason you liked it is because it’s not free.
Try to make an effort to purchase it.

You mean Ehrhardt from Linotype?
For use in a report, if you use a larger size for headlines instead of a bold (no need for a bold in a serious document), you get away with only two styles: Regular and Italic. Say, for use on Win or OSX you choose the TTF version — only about Euro 50 total. I bet you will write more reports in future, and have some written correspondence too. How many DVDs or CDs do you buy each month?  ;-)

Through Myfonts it’s [the equivalent of] 34 Euro.

That’s close to “for free”! ;-)

Ehrhardt is a Monotype design is it not? I have it with the “expert” supplement but I note it is no longer offered as such. (?) What happened there?

Was my first thought too but I couldn’t find it in their catalog.
