sans serif complement to Chaparral?

noftus

Hi,

I'm using Chaparral Pro as copy in a book I am writing about school yearbooks.

Because the book also has magazine style sections, I'm trying to find sans serifs which work well with Chaparral.

I was thinking of using Expressway by Ray Larabie, but I always get the feeling they clash a little.

-> Any suggestions on what sans work well with Chaparral?

The overall look I am trying to achieve is 'fresh', 'reservedly exciting', and 'confident'.

Thanks for your drips of knowledge.

Cronos works quite well

I'm using Chaparral with Trade Gothic for a hip financial magazine.

I'm no professional and my palette is limited but I think Neutraface works well with Chaparral. The x-height and weights match up well. I also like Neutraface display drafting as a titling font with Chaparral.

The informal shapes of Chaparral will probably play real nice with Auto Sans (Underware).

You might get some inspitation from Tom's blog entry on the font...

...or you might not.

Thanks guys,

I ended up going with Cronos, and Trade Gothic for the more striking sections.

Or better usethe original Today Sans from Scanngraphics.
