Coming from their list, they have start with Chopin Script and so customize it.
Do note however that Chopin Sans seems likely to have involved outline theft*, so please do some checking before you recommend or use it. For example if you look at Pelletier's other fonts on Dafont** it's quite difficult to ignore the near-certainty of plagiarism...
* Assuming it's not an outright clone. :-/

BTW Jan, Dick, Mike: Do you think this is all OK?
I read over the comments on dafont and I’m convinced that Claude Pelletier works from scans of old specimens. No outline theft. In the case of Chopin Script there’s also a commercial version from URW called Polonaise which isn’t exactly the same. Both seem to be based on specimens by Dan X Solo. I can’t judge if the designs are copyright-protected or owned by anyone. In the case of Champion a copyright sure must have expired. In the case of Pistilli it says that Pelletier recreated Pistilli with John Pistilli's son’s blessings.
I do think this is all OK.
I think you're suffering from a convenient -and sadly also destructive- delusion.
Also, let me ask: do you think Ryuk bothered to do any such research before making the recommendation? Maybe you don't know, but it seems you also might not want to know... It's not about being sure something is OK or not, it's about being cautious, and conscientious. For example if you "can’t judge if the designs are copyright-protected or owned by anyone", err on the side of caution.
I feel you're being too careless and cavalier, with near-zero apparent regard for the people who actually make these things you enjoy using and IDing.
And Jan, what about this now?

He does more work finding true font sources
Ah, but if so, what does he do with that knowledge?
I don't have great ID abilities (and I'm certainly not going to be a proxy human robot siccing font ID software on a sample and then reporting back like a peon) but I do have the necessary experience and instincts to smell plagiarism, and the necessary dedication to and respect for type -and Typophile- to try to thwart people like you.
What do you respect?

I respect Ryuk; for I would never know of his research if he didn't include that in these IDs. He was teaching us as well as answering the search without yelling or accusing us of being ignorant robotic peons.
I respect those of us with font identification software who try to make life easier for others. Who give correct answers within minutes rather than in hours or days or not at all. Who freely give benefit to others of their knowledge and expertise. I appreciate those answers are not limited by business connections to My Fonts, or Dafonts.
"I know Claude Pelletier and Claude Pelletier is an honorable man."
But god forbid you respect or help the people who make the very things at the heart of all this.
Who freely give benefit to others of their knowledge and expertise.
Something I've been doing here for over 12 years. Maybe you've never looked beyond the ID section so you have no idea. Or maybe you don't differentiate between helping people who make useful things, versus people who steal useful things.
