For Hrant, to help with his "Additional Information..."

The Milky Way galaxy is a member of an association named the Local Group, a relatively small group of galaxies that has a diameter of approximately one megaparsec.

And I'm in its exact geographic center, Los Angeles.

Actually, the center of the Local Group is about 1.3 million light-years away from anywhere on Earth, being in a direction somewhat between those of the Andromeda Galaxy and NGC 6822...

there's a nice picture here.

Oh, wait, according to this image, which includes some additional objects on the other side of our galaxy as part of the Local Group, you may be right after all...

Don't be such a copernicus.

Not sure I understand this, but how about Barney and Betty Hill? :-)

Well, Copernicus evicted the Earth from being the center of the Universe.

As for "An Interrupted Journey", their aliens came from Tau Ceti and Epsilon Eridani, two nearby stars in our own galaxy.

I did not know there was a novel, and even a movie devoted to the Hills’ case.
Still have to figure out what Hrant has to do with galaxies. LOL

Well, my mom's name means Venus and the name of one of my kids means Mars... Now I just have to get a dog and figure out the Armenian name for Andromeda.

Maybe, but he/she tells half truths.

For all, simply being in shape is an important

Now one of my idle pastimes is reading obituaries, and one way to sort the wheat from the chaff is to quickly peruse who dies in Wikipedia. One thing I've noticed is the sports-oriented people seem to die younger than their less active peers.

But we were talking bout the Univers....

The hrant anomaly.
