Your two samples don't look like the same typeface. There's much more of a variance in the stroke weights of your smaller sample than the larger. For instance, the 'S'. It could possibly be a difference in how the images were captured.

Here are two identical lines written with Charcoal CY. The only difference comes from the colors.
