I'm having trouble researching the Plain Gothic typeface. I have to do a presentation and I can't really find any history about that particular font. Can anybody help me?

Does anyone know the history and designer of Plain Gothic typeface?
Never heard of it... Sounds like it could be the name of a knock-off of something. What's it look like?
Do you mean Gothic-as -Grotesque as opposed to Gothic-as-Blackletter?
This is what it looks like..
I"m checking out grotesque to see if something comes up
