Meaning of trade vs commercial use of fonts

In an earlier post http://www.typophile.com/node/89216 Nick Shinn mentioned trade versus commercial use of a font. What do these terms mean?

Trade is media for professionals, such as business-to-business marketing and magazines such as Print or Eye.
Commercial is general media.

The distinction is between fonts that are being viewed and considered as cultural artefacts and potential tools (trade), and fonts that are read by consumers with no typographical awareness.

Nick Shinn, thanks for the info.
