How to align nodes in Glyphs?

Eimantas Paškonis

In FL, it's dead simple - you have 2 rulers for pixel-accurate positioning.
In Glyphs, it's big circles with thick anti-aliased line. Do I need to turn on something?

shift+cmd+a ?

or transformation palette to align shapes (as in Illustrator)

cmd+shift+a worked, but palette did not react at all.

Have you selected 2 different paths while using palette?

You mean nodes? Yes I did.

no, paths.
the align buttons on the palette align entire paths but not nodes within a path.
To align 2 or more nodes (or anchors) use shift+cmd+a.

Did you read the Glyphs guide?
http://glyphsapp.com/dateien/GlyphsHandbook20111222.pdf

But shortcut aligns nodes only to the relative center between them. What if I want only 1 node to be moved? As it's usually the case.
Let's say stem's upper node is a bit off to the left. I want it to move to buttom one's X position.
Thanks for the link, but there's no info on that.

Good point. I forwarded to the developer asking to give the possibility to set the origin.
Thank you!

Hello!
update Glyphs to 1.2 to be able to set an anchor for nodes alignment.
Notice that it aligns the nodes to the path's smaller edge.
If you need more control, open the lock in the info box and set the width or height to 0.
