Maintaining Text Formatting when copying from illustrator to indesign

Hi Pros,

I really curious how to copy text from illustrator CS5 to indesign CS5 maintaining text formatting. I usually layout first in illustrator then paste objects into indesign for press. But I can't maintain text formatting in indesign when copying. Pls advise any idea to solve the issue. Many Thanks!!!!!!!

You can save as Illustrator file (AI) and place into InDesign - then edit in Illustrator and update link if need to make changes to text.

InDesign's text engine is far superior to the one in Illustrator. Is there a particular reason you do layout in Illy?
