hey guys,
this is my first post( please don't be too harsh)
I tried searching this but i wasn't too successful.
How long does it take to create a font.
Please specify the details like If it's a pro font or not and all the family members(i meant bold italic condensed extended?)
Please mention your profession also( if you are a full time graphic designer or just design fonts as a hobby)
I know some have been playing with the software for years but have not made a font. Why is that so?
It depends.
@ Dunwich type
It depends on?
It depends on everything.
It would be like asking a randomly selected group of painters how long it takes to paint a painting – some might say a few hours; for others, a few years. (I doubt if anyone has designed a typeface in a few hours).
I know typefaces *have* been designed in a few hours, but they're not generally *good*. ;-)
How long is a piece of string?
Display face, one weight, two styles: three years.
... Seeing it used whilst walking down a street: priceless.
:D
