GPOS feature 'kern' causes overflow of offset to a subtable

I'm getting this error.

I looked at some older threads and don't see a definitive solution. So far I'm working with about 4700 Pairs, should I reduce the pairs or is there a way to just break up the kern feature with subtable; and make it work?

Looks like I'm going to pick up Karsten's script to fix this.
