What happened with "Modern Cyrillic: Type Design Competion by ParaType"

tourdeforce

Does anyone knows what happened with "Modern Cyrillic: Type Design Competion by ParaType"?
It was only once, in 2009, and after that, nothing, no news at all.

Anyone from Russia knows anything about this?

Dusan

I once asked them about the results, and got a reply.
I'll try to dig it up.

Google is your friend, Dušan,

Ah. :-)
Although samples would be nice.

BTW, exactly when were Belladonna and Fry released?

Yes, I saw results already. I was thinking more - what happened with the competition after 2009? Is it dead?

‘Dead’ is probably the wrong word here… It is my understanding that Sovremennaya Kyrillitsa (‘Modern Cyrillic’), dedicated to the tercentenary of Russian Civil Type, was a one-off event. I was on the jury, and I don’t remember hearing of any plans to turn it into a recurring affair (once every few years or so).

There was a similar competition held in Moscow ten years earlier, Kyrillitsa ’99. In their putting together Modern Cyrillic its organisers seemed to be encouraged and inspired by the success of that contest

Thanks, didn't know (or I knew, but forgot about) that.
