Hi there,

I know I used to know, but the meaning of the term "slug" has escaped me! I thought it had to do with the old lead inserts for letterpress, but if someone could fill me in on exactly what they are, it would be much appreciated!

Slug :

- Character designed to show paragraph breaks

- A bullet from a gun like a 9 milla

Thanks!

A slug is also the term for a Linotype cast line of type.
