Clockwork Orange title screen font (NOT poster font!)

Jenn

What is this font used in the opening screens of Stanley Kubrick's A Clockwork Orange?

My group is trying to imitate the title sequence for a class project. The closest we've been able to come up with is Akzidenz Grotesk BQ Bold Extended, but the S still looks a little off to me.

What do you think?

If for some reason the images don't show up, here is a link to the video clip:

Akzidenz Grotesk Extended Bold looks very close to me, including the /S...
More "similars" you've probably already inspected and more certainly less close: Annonce (/C and /S more similar to Helvetica Neue Extended), Titling Gothic Wide Bold, Trade Gothic Extended Bold (probably not enough bold), Zeppelin 42 Bold, Vonness (Extended Bold?), Supria Sans Heavy, Venus Extended Bold, Standard Extended Extra Bold (probably the closest after(?) Akzidenz Grostesk Extended Bold)

Splendid Grotesk could be an option in heavier weight. But don’t have a sample to verify.

Those big /C/ and /O/ counters sure make those letters unevenly light.

Thanks for the suggestions! I think Standard CT Extended Extra Bold is probably the closest I've seen, although I doubt most people could distinguish any of these from the Clockwork Orange text! You guys are pros. And yes, something does look a little "off" with some of the letters in the titles...
