BILLY JOEL t-shirt FONT ID

Danny Miller29 March 2011 · 10:05

I am interested in recreating this typeface for a poster and was wondering if anybody knew a similar font they could recommend as a starting point. This is from a Billy Joel t-shirt from his 1982 tour. Many thanks in advance for any help on this.

Sincerely,
Danny

It's rather clumsily hand-drawn. Futura Bold might be a semi-decent starting point.
