(x) Shark Tale movie logo - Helvetica/Futura {Mark S}

The tag line is Jacoby Black but what’s the font used for Shark Tale?. At first I thought it was Swiss 721 Black but the S indicates otherwise… any help would be most appreciated.

Shark Tale Title Treatment

Looks custom to me, combining elements of the bolder weights of Helvetica and Futura.

This is the german territory version;

Hm — looks like the money had run out by the time they got to
designing the logo. :-)

Thanks Mark. I spent ages trying to identify it and now I know why! And yeah, I have to agree with you on that one Yves.

BTW, just saw this:

This is so my kind of logo - it WORKS. Shame the graphic design
establishment ridicules this type of thing. FedEx logo my tailfin.
(I might lose the teeth though - especially since in the case of
lo-fi rendering they'd look like the shark has wobbly lips...)

Same studio as shrek *in location only* with none of the same people.

On Hrant's sample. It does work there. I think they got lucky with the combination of letters.

The Shark Tale title makes me want to vomit. Always has.

Lucky: I think so too. Although I've always wondered how often (if ever) does the potential look of a logo affect the actual choice of name. This would be a great case of that.

In more shark logo news: I don't know if it's the official logo, but the new CBS series "Shark" uses a light Futura with a slightly tall "A". To me it's borderline Toosubtlitis; a Benguiatish asymmetrical "A" would have been more memorable (if less impressive to fellow members of the graphic design establablishment).
