I don’t know what this FAQ Pronunciation really is worth.

Arnold Böcklin (or Boecklin), for example, is nothing like ‘BOKE-lin’.

Cochin is, as far as I know, ‘cosh-’ and a nasal ‘un’, as in ‘un, deux, trois’

Jörg is right. Proper IPA transcription of the names would be nice. Come on, this is a typographic forum and we have to make do with this pseudo-phonetic versions ;)

Now if only I had more time ...

I think Cochin would be [koˈʃɛ̃ː]
