What happened to Fontlab on Steroids?

blank

http://steroids.fontlab.net/ has been a dead URL for months. Has is been moved to some new location that I am overlooking or has FontLab chosen to stop distributing these tools?

Darn good question. I was going to direct you to http://www.twardoch.com/download/, but that just directs you to the dead site. Adam?

Cheers,

T

That page was my personal project and unfortunately I cannot maintain it anymore. It only had one Python macro on it, which did not quite work on FontLab Studio 5 anyway. I hope that with FontLab Studio 6, we can simply include more useful Python macros right with the app.

Consider republishing the encoding files without the macro. You and Tiro did a great job on those and there’s nothing similar out there.

Is http://www.e-font.de/flpydoc/ housing the same content or is it an even more outdated version?

@ Adam

The macro is "Rename glyphs by scheme", isn’t it? Where is the problem with FLS5? It seems to work fine here (Windows XP and Python 2.3).

@ Christoph

Is http://www.e-font.de/flpydoc/ housing the same content or is it an even more outdated version?

There is likewise a dead link to FontLab on Steroids.

Ah this is just a link, looked like it is the logo for the site.

edit:
It can be found here:

and you can even download it

Christoph, Arno,

the content on e-font.de is the most up-to-date content available. This page was originally developed by Andreas Eigendorf (who runs e-font.de), I helped him, I first hosted it on dev.fontlab.net but now he is hosting it. Of course we do have plans... etc. :/ I hope those get realized.
