Macquarie University Logo Font

cdavidson

Hi all,
Does anyone know the name of the font used in the Macquarie University logo? It looks to me like some strange cross between Optima and Fritz Quadrata...
Thanks
Cale

penumbra flare?

... i honestly believe its a combination. the reason i am saying this is comparing just the M and the Q
The M appears to be Geometric 415
whereas the Q would be something like kievit...

I suspect you've got it with Penumbra Flare, johndiggity. I think the Q is modified and the tiny serifs have been clipped off.

No, it's not Penumbra Flare. That would be Hypatia Sans.

Ah, thanks Thomas! Congratulations on your font being used as the face for a University!

Thanks! That's the second one that I know of, also in use by Pacific University http://www.pacificu.edu/

Cheers,
