discmainfont.jpg ~ Looks like it may be based on Friz Quadrata, but I am sure that someone will nail it better than I.

However...

discheadfont.jpg ~ Helvetica Neue 55 Roman
disctophead.jpg ~ Helvetica Neue 55 Roman
discletterhead.jpg ~ Rockwell
discrdfont.jpg ~ Helvetica Neue 65 Medium

unknown

discartfotn.jpg ~ Minion Display Regular

unknown

Since the 'Chemistry of Fish' headline (discartfotn.jpg) is Minion, I am assuming that the serif body text (discbody.jpg)is therefore a variety of Minion as well, probably Regular or Semi Bold

unknown

Ok, forget Friz Quadrata...

The Discover masthead (discmainfont.jpg) shares some traits with E+F's Dragon Light, however.

My guess would be that it's a custom job.

unknown

Whew.

The Discover logo also bears a close resemblance to TF Arrow Medium from Treacyfaces. Nick Shinn's Beaufort is also in the same vein.

Good one Marc. I forgot about TF Arrow.

It's definitely Arrow. We've subscribed to this magazine for a long time. They used Arrow extensively inside the magazine when they first adopted that logo. They've gone through at least three redesigns since then.
