Sans-serif to match Papyrus

david hunter29 July 2010 · 04:09

Hi all,

I am looking for a sans-serif typeface to match Papyrus (not my choice - I loathe that font). It will be used on a website, for menu headings and also body text. Even a suggestion of what characteristics would match would be helpful- humanist, geometric, grotesque etc. The website is for a horror/thriller film, if that is any help on choosing a font.

Looking forward to any recommendations to solve this conundrum!

Regards,

David

I would go with a wide geometric gothic, not too dark.

Something with a small x-height.
Futura, Kabel, Mr Eaves, Neutraface, Brandon Grotesque, that sort of thing.

Frankly I wasn’t thinking anything specific. You should try to see what works best for you.

Papyrus for a horror film? What?

It seems fit to me: “Papyrus… Oh, the horror!” ;-)

agreed.

Papyrus was not my choice, but I do have to work with it.
