(x) OPTI MORGAN FONT - Opti Morgan 59 {Mike F}

mkstudio

See a credit for Opti Morgan as the font in a Drew Hodges/Spot Design poster for The Wild Party, a show.
What is Opti Morgan? How can I find out more?
Thanks.
Mara

Evidently, Opti and its successor, Castcraft, are defunct, at least if you try to follow the links in this thread...

Morgan Press marketed woodtype; evidently the Opti line were revivals...

I have notes about typefaces shown in the Solotype Catalog, and they say that Morgan Gothic (p.35) is the same as OptiMorgan One. It's a 1800's era sans serif headline type. You didn't show a picture, so I don't know if that fits what you are looking for.

Thanks! Will get you a picture.

Here is a jpeg.
Opti Morgan is the small, scripty type.
Thanks for your help.

The credit for type in this poster appears in Steve Heller's "New Vintage Type" book.

A variant of OptiSport?

What you are after is Opti Morgan 59 - Opti's version of William Page's 1892 wood type face of the same name.

Unfortunately, Opti fonts are not obtainable any more and I know of no other version of this typeface.

The credit for type in this poster appears in Steve Heller's "New Vintage Type" book.

That's odd: this poster doesn't appear in my copy of the book...

Old Nick,
It's a variation of this poster, on page 118.

MikeF,
Thanks so much for the info. Great!
