Three fonts from 1920s publication

W1

Hi there, hopefully someone can offer some information. I am trying to find digital matches if possible (or close match)
for three fonts from a 1920s publication. I'm particularly keen to identify the serif. These would have course
been printed with hot metal, but curious to know if they exist as digital versions.

They are as follows:

Any help appreciated!

I think the first one is actually hand written.

Hi Nick

Definitely not – this is admittedly a poor scan, but I have seen the original publication, and it's printed very crisply with hot metal.

Font Bureau's Vonness Expanded Black is a decent match for the extended sans. A more readily available alternative would be Akzidenz Grotesk Bold Extended.

Might work for Number One:

Two and three, but only for the S, which is much closer than the other suggested alternates...

For number two, you might try Sacker's Gothic or Engraver's Gothic though your sample is a bit thicker than those two.

Hollandse Mediaeval might work inplace of the first one.

Impressive suggestions so far, thank you. Hollandse and Vonness Expanded are particularly good matches.
Any more suggestions welcome.
