Gender symbols for ballet titles

Gregers™

Hi there

I hope some one here will be able to help me with tricky issue:
I need to find a font which have the gender symbols as glyphs. I need them for a ballet program with gender specific Choreographies. The Choreographer insists that they are part af the titles. He wants the middle o to be replaced with the symbols according to whichever of the two ballets being communicated.

Problem is that they need to fit with our customdrawn corporate typeface(see attached image).

Hope someone here might have some suggestions.

The lc o is almost geometric, and the rest could just follow the contrast in the type: Why not draw them yourself?

Hi Frode

Problem is that i dont really have the time or the experience to draw them up myself and ad them to the existing character set.

I was hoping that there might already exist a font with the symbols, that have similar caracteristics.

Corundum comes to mind.

Jeg kan tegne disse for deg relativt fort, og hvis det er trengs kan de også legges til i skrifttypene.

If there aren't a lot of o's to replace you could draw the signs and replace the one letter in InDesign. Mind to scale it to right size before pasting into text.
Frode's idea of lc o sounds good to me.

Hi Nick

That does look very similar to our typeface. As i can see from the PDF sample, the symbols are not drawn in anyway to fit with the style of the typeface. So i wonder now, as i have no idea about the correct way of setting running text with these symbols, how would one set that title with the middle o replaced with one of the symbols?? Another thing is that we usually always set titles in Italic??

Anyone??

Hi Frode

Tak for tilbud, men jeg tror ikke der er budget til at begynde at få tegnet specielle karakterer til blot denne ene forestilling. Kunne nu være super fedt.

@Nick
Corundum looks like a really good buy, considering the extensive range of glyphs, but for now where we just need these two symbols, we will probably wait with a purchase.
Thanks

Andron could give you a starting point for variable stroke's width in such symbols:

Jesper, å tegne disse symbolene vil ikke koste deg mer enn å kjøpe en skrifttype. Er det kun til en vekt? I så fall er det maks to timers arbeid.
