Let's Design Together?

Anyone else find the new United Airlines logo kind of lame? Not design by committee so much as design by negotiation.

Continental globe + United in the font they used for Continental (Perpetua -- looks like a custom ultra weight to me) in a kind of boring web-safe light blue.

The logos for these types of corporate mergers are almost always an interim design made to appease the company being swallowed up.

I would tend to agree. But like Jackson said, is probably a stopgap. I think Southwest Airlines does a great job with branding. I'm not crazy about the look of it, just the consistency, and user-friendly feel.

I saw some really cool airplane livery recently, but can't remember who it was for. The planes had instructional information on the outside of them indicating the different parts of the plane.

Found it. Kulula Airlines (South Africa).
