(x) alberta poster font - Nordic {Alexandru C}

fezenstein2

from iso50

Reminds me of the work of Othmar Motter, especially Tektura and Neo-Textur. This is probably custom.

I think this is also the font used in the old Nortel logo, but I don't know what it is. Here are some more letters:

Notice how neither logo contains upper case letters. Perhaps they weren't offered with the font.

I also started a FontStruction based on this a long time ago. I'd like to find out what this one is as well so I can complete it :-)

I think I've also seen this in another logo downtown somewhere (Fording?) I wonder if it's a Canadian font.

Never mind - Fording's isn't quite the same:

I think Florian is right about custom work, although this could surprise us by being a freebie -- geometric 'techno' looks are favorites in that realm.

Don't know if you are interested in alternatives, but I looked for some single-story techno styles and have some suggestions (without links, sorry, but all at MyFonts): Coconut, Griffin, Honcho, Popgod, Dynamo and Gno.

Looked at freebies at Dafont: Transformers is similar, and Weaponeer could probably be converted rather easily to look like this, by clipping off some pieces, and rounding corners a bit more.

Hello

I think the font is:

Alex.

Yes … do you happen to have any information about its designer/origin?

The file copyright (2001) and some searching points to some Levi Halmos of No Images Fonts, who already had given us such fonts as Bitsumishi and countless others on all the free fonts' sites.
Nordic (free for personal use) is also on Dafont, but under "Techno > Various".
