Fonts Bundled with Adobe CS(x)

mattaron

Does anyone have intelligence (or heard rumors) about which fonts will be bundled with Adobe CS5?

Meanwhile, I've been auditing installed fonts at computer labs in a couple of institutions (as well as on my own Macs), and was hoping to get a handy list of which fonts shipped with which versions of Adobe CS. I remembered there had been conversations here about this, so I poked around and figured it might be useful to re-post Thomas Phinney's lists from his Typblography (thanks again, Thomas):

Fonts that shipped with CS3

Fonts that shipped with CS4

I'm left with some questions -- like, did Warnock Pro or Brioso Pro fonts ever ship bundled with other Adobe products? How'd they get on these lab computers!? Cussed pirates!

Warnock Pro shipped with CS1, I don’t know about Brioso.

Ahhh, I need a longer memory. This audit is a lot harder than I thought it would be.

Brioso fonts were offered as a registration incentive for CS1. I'm sure Warnock Pro fonts were also bundled with the first CS release.

Also, for CS2 there is a PDF of fonts bundled in my post from July 6, 2009
http://forums.adobe.com/thread/290550?start=50&tstart=0

Sanvito Pro was the registration incentive for CS4.

Hypatia Sans was bundled with CS3 I believe.

No, Hypatia Sans (Roman Only) was one of the registration incentives for CS3.

Also I've confirmed that the Warnock Pro fonts were bundled with the original Adobe Creative Suite and the second version of the suite.

Thanks for digging that all up, Paul.

Lists of bundled fonts with:

Florian, the list you linked to for CS1 is actually only applicable to InDesign. Here are the fonts bundled with Illustrator CS:

The CS3 link above includes a set of 'Web Authoring Fonts' (list beginning with Ceriph0553.ttf)

I don't recall seeing these ever. Where are these installed? Or are they lurking on the install DVD somewhere?

André

I believe those web fonts came with Fireworks and/or Flash.

@bemerx25

Thanks. That would explain why I've not seen them since I have the wrong CS3.

André

Paul, thanks for the correction!

Fonts bundled with Adobe Creative Suite 5 (+ registration incentive: either Adobe Text or Kazuraki )

Is this Nicole Mendoza correct? She starts right off the bat with this statement

"The font set shipping with CS5 closely resembles the CS4 set with the following exceptions:
The following families have been added to the CS5 font set:

Adobe Arabic (4 fonts)
Adobe Hebrew (4 fonts)"

Curious as ever, I went to the exact list, to see these at the very top:

AdobeArabic, in all 4 styles
AdobeHebrew, in all 4 styles

but these were already in the CS4 package. I'll grant her, they were not installed by default, but I would still not list them as "added".

Yes. These fonts were delivered on disc for the CS4 suite products, but they were not part of the standard disc set for CS4, and were not included with any CS4 point product.

Ah -- thanks for looking it up!

Pity though, I'd hoped those were two other Arabic and Hebrew fonts. I already got these :-)
