anyone working on turning this into a font. peculiar signature!

Is that what you get for writing an "O" with about 5 pens? ;-)

I thought his writing would have been smoother, with more flow to it. Or maybe being a left hander forces one to write like that?

He does seem to curl his hand around in a peculiar way to write 'from above' so that he can see what he's writing perhaps. Whatever, that particular way of writing doesn't seem conducive to smoothness.

(I'm probably going to be crucified by lefties now, but don't take it personally, some may have the most beautiful hand writing).

He used 22 pens, so many of those involved in the success could have a souvenir. Normally his signature is smooth.

Anyone else see a little-old-lady in a headscarf?

Ah, I see, that explains it then.

Ha ha. Sorry about that.

Insigne put out a font based on his handwriting — I think it comes with a ligature for his signature.

That ‘Oba’ ligature is obviously some kind of Illuminati sigil. Any initiates to the grand conspiracy around here who might interpret it for us?

Apparently a '70s-era typographic aficionado who appreciates extreme negative kerning.

And I thought my penmenship was bad. LOL Shaky hands. Jeesh.

I do LOVE Nick's comment though. I may have to borrow that for my signature.

That little old lady is ingenious. Now I can't not see it. :)

The amazing thing is if you turn it upside down she turns into an attractive young woman! ;-)

To me, it looks clearly like the work of a signature machine. Every politician gets there sig retraced by a machine that mimics there real signature. These guys have so many things to sign that they never would have time for it all otherwise.

In this case I think we have some live witnesses! (It's from the health-care reform bill.)

Looks pretty shaky to me for human writing!

I saw the sigining on CNN:

He wrote each glyph with a different pen, and then gave each of those pens to persons who helped most with the bill; that's why the signature looks the way it does.

Thanks, Tomi! That makes sense and why it looks so deliberate and contrived.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say up there…

Craig: :-D!

I see an easter egg and a bunny (B) scampering away in a mad rush.
An easter egg in the health-care reform bill? Time will tell…

many of us lefties 'hook' or 'arch' our hand while writing. this is caused by the need to avoid smearing what we write as we write, since english is written left to right. probably in some asian language it would be beneficial. personally, i turn the page and seemingly write top to bottom which again just helps avoid having the hand smear what has been written. no doubt this has been a source of great stress for lefties over the ages since lefties are usually more right-brain and therefore more artistic/creative. ok, let me hear it from the righties now.
