ID font stamped on ceramics?

Guest

Can anyone tell from such a small sample which font this is? I assume it was stamped into clay before going into the kiln. Is it just a muddy version of Caslon Old Face or one of the typewriter fonts? There are so many, I can't find a match.

It's too hard to classify (for me).

Just to give an information:

In Germany and, I guess, all over the world, some artists use lead letters for their ceramic artwork. Just in Germany I got around half a dozend of them as customers.

The process those letters came through make it near impossible to trace the original typeface (unless maybe there’s some ceramist around here).
For a similar look, your best bet is a distressed typewriter font.
