(x) vintage fonts - Kaufmann, Futura, Orplid {Yves, Mark S}

newbie_chez

Please help me to identify these samples. I would like to use these or similar fonts to convey beauty, glamour, charm.

Also does anyone have any recommendations for fonts that convey 1950's Hollywood glamour/movies/pin-up girls.

if anyone knows any good links for vintage (50's) fonts or graphics please help. Thanks!

Thank you!

If anyone knows what the top one is, please post.

I couldn't find a digital version, but the top one I believe is Orplid.

Argh that is too bad, I can't find it either? Does this mean I'd have to find somewhere where I can use letterpress for this?

Thanks anyway you guys.

Some links:

font diner

house industries especially Sign Painter, Las Vegas, Tikitype

Jukebox from Veer

You could do a search for "fifties" at myfonts

or at fontscape

for starters

Well, It was originally a metal face, but I always remember seeing Orplid in rubdown/cutout lettering catalogs in the seventies. It was also available in phototype for headlines. It was pretty common in type catalogs so I gotta think somebody's digitized it by now but possibly given it a different name.

Regarding your samples, there's some Kaufmann in there
as well as Futura.
