(x) Serif face on Aurelie Sheehan's "History Lesson for Girls" book cover - New Clear Era {Jan}

Bald Condensed

I realise this may be a long shot as the type is quite small. Unfortunately I couldn't find any bigger versions of this cover. Maybe the one-storey "a", peculiar "y", and swash on the capital "G" (the descending "F" may very well be a customisation) rings a bell with someone who knows what this one is.

I am probably very-very off track here but tome it looks like someone took y and G from a Goudy Modern Italic and straightened them.

But I am probably totally wrong.

It's a very interesting theory, but straightening an italic face is so destructive for the general architecture of the characters that it would show in the curves and so on.

Doesn’t ring a bell. Looks like it could have been inspired by FF Disturbance, no? The G with swashy descender, the long f (note Jeremy Tankard’s f ligs) …

Jan! You saved my bacon! Twice! :^)

Thanks, you're reliable as always. ;)
