(x) ID a font / Opening credits of 'Medium', CBS TV program - Tempus Sans, Papyrus {Riccardo, Lex, Florian}

mrbeavis

I am looking for the name of the font on the opening credits of the TV program "Medium", broadcast in the US. I've tried to get a sample, but for some reason I can not create a registered account on CBS web site. Other attempts to get a sample, are from countries other then the US and the font a different. The font in question appears to be Celtic, with dropped caps. Can anyone help??

The font in question appears to be Celtic

It's this?

Looks like a stroked and squooshed Tempus Sans.

Thanks so much for the effort. But I can only compare your sample, and the font in question, with upper & lower case. The cap's drop below the baseline. Your sample does have similarities. The cap "D", in the screen credits is very distinctive. Celtic, most likely But calligraphy/brush stroke characteristics. What is the font you presented???

Again thinks for your help

Has anyone found a sample of the original font. I keep trying to download trailer & opening credit of the program with no luck.

Lex thanks for joining in, to ID this beautiful letterform

Am I chasing something that is proprietary? Designed only for the TV program????

If Tempus Sans is the font is there a site for free download?????

If Tempus Sans is the font is there a site for free download?????

Short answer:
No!!!!!

No, it’s a commercial font; you need to license it. Read about the value of type.

Thanks to all that helped me ID this font.

Rock-on, mates, & watch F1 this summer.

> you need to license it

Tempus Sans ships with MS Office ('97 ff.) Maybe Mr. Beavis is one of the 52.7 percent¹ of computer users who already have it installed or on their Office install disk. In which case he doesn't need to.

¹ Wild but educated guess

Fontgrube, sorry to inform you. I'm a MAC used. On rare occasions I will boot "Windows". But the frustration make me want to pull my hair out. Guess that's a factor in my baldness

Also, concerning the font in question, I have come to the conclusion that it is not Tempus Sans. I captured an image of the font off a DVD and while there are a few similarities I have to continue looking. Is there a way to include Jpg file in my post. I'll include my email address if anyone is interested in continue the search. I can atleast reply with the image.

Yes: How to post a sample or image
Make sure that:

  • the file name does not contain spaces (or any other ø∂∂ ¢håræct€rs)
  • you have the right Flash plugin installed with your browser

Your link doesn’t work for me: “not available for your geographic region”

@Andreas (Fontgrube):
In which case he doesn't need to

Rather: In which case he already has licensed it, and doesn’t need to license it again.

Alright, that is some version of the infamous Papyrus!

Elsner+Flake’s cut has the large lowered caps, but no cigar … Close enough for you?

Thanks for the help!!!!!!!!!!!
