I have a friend who's getting a tattoo, and was interested in finding out what kind of typefaces the Navy around 1945. Thought I'd post here to see if any of you guys had any ideas :)

A better reference might be Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins' flash. You can buy books of his drawings for tattoo designs on Amazon.
