I'm trying to pair the typefaces Typewriter and Helvetica neue condensed black. I'm not sure if they work together. Any suggestions on something else I should try that may look better. Its for a Casino Night at a Charity with no budget to buy fonts with.

Steer clear of American Typewriter. I kind of throw it at the high end of the comic sans and rosewood category.
Georgia works simply because it's 'waist' is high. If you've got clarendon, that'd be better (and gets closer to the aesthetic of Am Typewriter.

Those fonts will certainly attract attention, but they don't sound like much fun -- unless you roll the dice and shake them up a bit!
