Lucida Grande for Print

Cody Boehmig

As far as I am aware, Lucida Grande was developed screen use (correct?). My question is:

How acceptable would it be to use Lucida Grande (or something from the same family) for print (as opposed to screen)?

And/or

What are some similar alternatives that work well in print?

Lucida (Serif) and Lucida Sans were designed in 1985.
So they are certainly not designed for screen use.
I think Lucida Grande is just a better hinted Lucida Sans.
So why not using it for print.

Lucida is more a brand than a typeface:

That said, if you need a fairly modern sans serif, Lucida Sans could work pretty well.
Lucida Grande, on the other hand, isn't practical for print mostly because it lacks an italic.
