Recommendations for a typophobe

blw

I’ve only just started studying graphic design and this immense world of typography seems quite imposing and impenetrable. Does anybody have any recommendations for inspiring books/designers/artwork etc that can help convert me into a true typophile?

Should you be able to find this book you will be pleased:

“Typography: an Encyclopedic Survey of Type Design and Techniques Throughout History by Friedrich Fiedl, Nicolaus Ott, and Bernard Stein. ISBN: 1-57912-023-7.

Thanks for your suggestions - I’m heading off to the library right now...
