Font ID: Another Geometric Grotesque

Mike Diaz

It’s not Tangent, FB Nobel, DTL Nobel, Gotham, Ministry, Neutraface nor “City of”

Any Ideas?

I will grant you that it's not exact, but I think Neutraface comes rather close.

Other close alternatives: Bernhard Gothic, PL Bernhardt, Grizzly and Kabel. The R is perhaps the hardest letter to match, and might be fabricated from a P if all else matches.

Looks to be Bonn by Neville Brody. I'm not sure where you can get it anymore.

Bonn could be Insignia without the extended crossbars.

Paul, you’ve got it!

If you would be so kind as to post an image of the basic character set that would be cool.

Thanks for your help Mike And Paul!!!!

Mikey :-)

You can see the typeface in use here. Since it seems to be the corporate typeface of the German Federal Art Gallery in Bonn, I doubt it has ever been available for licencing.

Bonn is the (exclusive?) typeface of Kunst- und Ausstellungshalle der Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Bonn. Neville Brody has designed the signage system for KAH Bonn in 1991.

2 Dumme, 1 Gedanke. :-D

Hehe :)

My knowledge of Bonn that it is a preliminary design for Typeface 6 & 7.

((incredible - my neighbour on typophile, just came back from there!))

Thank you again Paul. Here is another view of Bonn in the postscript:

Too bad Bonn is exclusive tho, it has a really lovely deco feeling. I never like Typeface 6 & 7 nor Insignia.

Oh well, but thanks,

Mikey :-)
