Hi John,

this is Lorraine Script, with the ‘J’ and the ‘q’ customized.

Lorraine Script with a different J

-double post-

looks like there several different characters. Are there alternative characters available?

Excellent, thank yous /JEP

I was also looking at Lorraine Script, but there are more differences: S,z,k,r. I wonder if this actually is Lorraine, or that one is based on the other.

I would bet my hat that these letters are modifications made for this design. If you look close they seems a bit quirky in comparison with the original ones... well, except the "k" which is quite an improvment!

In the Phil's Photo book "Homage to the Alphabet" from 1985, there is a script called Brandywine which seems to match every character. It has alternate glyphs for G, J, O, S, r, s and z.

In one of the Expresiv font collections (Photolettering) from 1994 was a font called GonzalesJeanette which is a version of Brandy without both alternates of these characters. I will make a sample to post soon.

Mike, a font of knowledge, as always!

Thanks Mike, guess I have to taste my hat now. Would be cool to see a scan from the “Homage to the Alphabet" book — on the alt glyphs.

I will make one later. This morning is busy for me.

The answer to all speculations. Many thanks Mike!

Glad to help John.
