Plantin alternatives

Frode Bo Helland0 votes

Hi. I'm looking into Plantin for a project, but none of the versions I found include small caps or old style figures. Galaxie Copernicus is a good alternative, but I'd still like to know if there's anything similar out there I might've overlooked. Suggestions?

Cheers.

Musee looks like it might be up your alley, and possibly Alia as well.

This site has several good substitutes

I don't think you'll find anything better than Galaxie.

Fonts.com (Monotype) has all sorts of small caps and old style figure sets for Plantin:

Not in OT format, unfortunately.

(I used to use it, including all the expert sets, on a magazine back in my art director days.)

(Galaxy Copernicus looks nice, too.)

Oh, silly me, I didn't even check. Of course there are small caps and OSF — in Plantin Pro. See the Character Set.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm not sure which I'll go for, but Musee definitely catched my eye.

So you do realize that Plantin with SC and OSF is available?

Yes, I do.
