Del Taco

Renasci

Anybody know the font that Del Taco has been using in their ads lately?

Looks like some sort of condensed Macbeth.

The K in Macbeth is not the same style. I think this is a version of a typeface called Rubens Wood (see Solotype Catalog p. 39), or Rubens (p.9). My notes show a QBF font called Nachtwache is a version of this. I think there are others with spelling variations on Rubens, like Rueben, or such. Mike F. probably has a list of them. We may have explored this topic before.

This could be the free version based on Disney’s Haunted Mansion logo, named after a famous voice actor. I’m not going to elaborate because I’m not sure of its legality.

NovelFonts had a font called Rublof (in the Expresiv Ornate Font collection), which is a version of Rubens. The sample below was made using that font stretched to 175% height. I didn’t try to make the fraction properly.

Turns out Wooden Type Fonts has a Rubens.

[edit: however, if you set these words, you can see it’s not the same in its details. The E is one obvious difference.]
