Problem joining points in FontLab

Sarah Nelson0 votes

Okay, I'm sure there's a very simple answer to this, but I must ask. I'm new to FontLab and can't find answers on the web...

I'm wondering how to connect two points that are on different paths. Every time I try to the program won't allow it, but will only on the same path. See attached image, I'm trying to join the two top points, and the lower 2 points. Any thoughts?

Click with Drawing tool (pen with plus sign) in the first node. Pen is showing a diagonal line instead of a cross.

Click with same tool in the second node. Pen is showing a circle.

Path closed.

If it is a straight path, you can just drag and drop one of the poinys on the other.

thanks! the drag/drop method worked, the other did not. only allows me to join points on the same node (no circle on the outer path).

Oh, it is fine. The important thing is that the problem is solved. ;)

Good luck!

Also, though I'm not entirely sure: I think if your 'snap-to-grid' is set to 1 it's tough to do several things, because FL uses that variable for a more than what you think it should? :-)

Cheers!
