Hmmm. Back from a meeting. The Bodoni poster I found isn't quite right. What era is the sample from?

Looks like you were close. I think that some of the Bodoni Bold Condensed type looks like this - old Mergenthaler Linotype & Monotype samples in the Jaspert Encyclopaedia of Type Faces look like this.

Both have this odd hook on the f.

Or it could be Century 725...

Still Century 725 in my opinion... with tighter spacing and (maybe) slightly condensed
