I_T_I Ligature

msmiths

I wanted to create an ITI ligature and was curious…

How often would various combinations of accented I characters end up in that sequence, if at all?

i.e.

Iacute_T_Iacute ligature

or

Iacute_T_Idieresis ligature

I'd like to keep it simple but accommodate the possible combinations, I'm not familiar with how accented characters are used, if ever, in sequence. (whether mixed or consistent)

Thanks,

Mike

In Old Norse and Icelandic quite often, the adjective lítill -- lítinn, its feminine forms lítil -- lítin and plural lítillar (meaning little or small) is an everyday-word that is also used in a whole bunch of compound-words, and then there's the adverb lítit. There are other words with this combination, but this is probably the most frequently used.

Latin: MĪTIS (soft [nominative]), MĪTĪ (soft [dative])

Yoruba: TÍTÍ (until), TÍTÌ (street)

Māori: TĪTĪMAKO, or how about TĪTITI
