Handwriting font- suggestions?

Lauren

I am looking for a good handwriting font to use on a personal website. Not cursive and something that can be easily read (even at smaller sizes).

I'm trying to add to the unique, hand drawn feel that the site will have. The site is for my graphic design portfolio and will have watercolor paint and paper as the background texture.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated! Also, if there's anyone who thinks that their own font might work, please let me know:)

Thanks!!

Fonts for Peas has free handwritten fonts. They're from handwriting samples submitted by regular people.

Or send in your own handwriting to The Font Garden. They'll turn it into a font for $40. They also have free and inexpensive handwritten fonts.

Thanks Teresa! Those are great sites:)

If you want to give a "personal touch" with originality use your own handwriting. The question is: Is your handwriting legible?
Here it is some excellent Type Foundries specialized in handwriting/lettering:
- Sudtipos
- Borges Lettering

- DStype has the great Ventura (Dino is not a specialist in handwriting but Ventura is worthwhile to see)

Cheers

mb - I like many of those too, but I would call most of those decorative scripts by professional letterers, not natural, everyday handwriting.

Stephen, you're right.
Ventura from Dino is a calligraphic font, and the others are more decorative script/lettering fonts.
But as you say, we can find some handwriting fonts like: Tiza; Romy; Pronto...

Maybe FF Mister K from FontFont is more what you're looking for...

Cheers

I really appreciate everyone's help! I'm going to try a couple out and see which one works. I think Tiza is an interesting one... not what I thought I was looking for at all, but I really like it.

Thank you!

Thanks Paul! I bought P22 Cezanne from myfonts and am also considering buying Felt Tip Roman. Thanks to everyone for your help:)
