Hey does anybody know if there is a dingbat font out there that has like, well I'm not sure of their name but like "accent lines" like on old circus or western posters - like go around the text like on this shirt (i know it's kind of hard to see - but hopefully you can get the idea of what i'm talking about) http://splitusa.com/garmfall04/mensfall04/089.html

so any idea would be great! thanks

hi tom.

There are tons of Dover books with typographic ornaments, scrolls
and flourishes ... try bookfinder.com with a
keyword of 'ornament' or 'flourish"
or try the design/clip art section at a major bookstore.

btw, that's the work of Hydro 74 ... he started working for Relevant a few months ago.

really? wow i thought it looked similar to some of his previous work...

so do you know of any font sites that might have ornaments or flourish dingbats? (*now that I know the name for those things ha - thanks*)

Dalliance (emigre) and Bickham Script (adobe) have flourishes.

probably lots of others.

also: lots of hits for 'flourish' at myfonts.com

Ok cool - now that I know what they're called I'll search and see what I can stumble across - thanks a lot for all your help BJ

dunno, but I don't think so. Anything specific
in mind ...

those examples in your second post have some nice ornaments indeed. I wouldn't mind knowing the font on girlspink_shirt_zoom.jpg myself, although it's probably a hydro74 custom aswell right?

Adobe Wood Type Ornaments may be of interest.

ProDTP, a Russian website, offers lots of ornaments in EPS format.

Plenty of other decorative elements as well.

There are a couple of things I see on ProDTP that I like and that are downloadable, but how do you contact them? I don't speak or read Russian and wouldn't want to put something on a commercial site that would cause me problems.

Thanks,

Sharon

Nevermind, I found it. Sharon
